New ID Numbers Are Coming

In an effort to improve identification security, the university will no longer use Social Security numbers for the purpose of identification in most cases.
Starting this summer, the transition from Social Security numbers to new eight-digit University Identification Numbers will begin. Every student, faculty, and staff member will have a new eight-digit number, which will be used in place of the Social Security number.
Any new printing of departmental and university-wide forms should no longer require Social Security numbers. Instead, the new forms should request the user to enter his or her new eight-digit University Identification Number. This practice also applies to any online forms your department currently uses.
