The Office of Admission is looking for graduate assistants to work as regional admission counselors for the 2005-2007 academic years, acting as the university’s "presence" in its recruitment efforts.

If you can recommend a graduating senior whom you think would do a commendable job representing the university to prospective students and families, please contact Sharon Gringeri at 768.4178 or gringeri@hartford.edu.

These positions will entail recruiting prospective students by visiting local high schools and attending national and state college fairs in the fall 2005 and fall 2006 semesters in a given territory. In-house training will begin the first week of August and recruitment will take place from mid-September through mid-December. A stipend as well as reimbursement for travel related expenses will be paid during the fall semesters (while on the road). In addition, the Office of Admission will pay 100 percent of full-time graduate tuition in the spring and summer semesters!

This arrangement allows for alternating periods of full-time employment and full-time graduate study. A second year appointment will be made if employment and academic responsibilities are satisfactorily met, allowing for completion of a Master’s degree at the conclusion of the second year.

The candidates should be active within the university and must possess strong communication skills, excellent time-management skills and enthusiasm for the university. In addition, the candidates must meet the academic standards (GPA requirement, GRE/GMAT) conducive with matriculating into a graduate program.
