Introducing UNotes Daily
Posted 1/17/2005
Welcome to UNotes Daily, a new online source of information for the University of Hartford community.
This daily electronic newsletter marks a new era in the University's communications, as it will provide news, event listings, sports scores, and other information on a continuously updated basis, Monday through Friday. UNotes Daily replaces UNotes, which was published every two weeks.
How it Works
Beginning today, faculty and staff will receive an e-mail every morning, Monday through Friday, with the day's top headlines and a link to the UNotes Daily web site. For those employees who do not have computer access at work, supervisors are asked to print out the daily headlines and post them in a central location.
Faculty and staff with University of Hartford e-mail addresses will receive the daily headlines automatically, and do not need to subscribe. But if you would like to receive the daily headlines at a non-university address, please send that address to unotes@hartford.edu with a note saying that you would like to subscribe.
You can visit UNotes Daily any time at www.hartford.edu/daily. You can even set the UNotes Daily web site as your home page, and see the latest news, events, and sports scores automatically every time you log on to your computer.
Submitting Articles
Please continue to submit your articles, announcements, and accolades – as well as any questions and comments about UNotes Daily – to unotes@hartford.edu.
Articles generally will be published within a week of when they are submitted, although it may take longer at times when there is a large volume of submissions. If an article or announcement is time-sensitive and needs to be published quickly, please make a note of that when you submit the item.
Timely and Reader-Friendly
The new daily format will offer a number of distinct advantages:

Timely and Reader-Friendly
The new daily format will offer a number of distinct advantages:
- UNotes Daily will be updated continuously and will feature much more timely and immediate information than the biweekly version of UNotes.
- With just a few new articles each day, UNotes Daily will take much less time to read than the biweekly UNotes, which packed two weeks worth of news into every issue.
Please note that UNotes Daily will have more articles than usual for the next few days, due to the large number of items that have been submitted since the last issue of UNotes was published on Dec. 20. The number of articles in UNotes Daily will gradually decrease after the first few days of publication. - The daily format will significantly reduce the need for broadcast e-mail announcements to the campus community.
