The Hartford Courant published an interview on May 15 with Assistant Professor of Psychology Denise Laframboise (A&S), who is researching the effectiveness of two types of therapy for people who have negative body images. Laframboise is conducting the therapy groups this summer, and is looking for candidates for her study. Anyone interested in participating in the confidential program can call 860.768.5543.

Also on May 15, the Courant ran an article on the Jackie McLean International Arts Festival, which will take place today (Friday, May 16) and Saturday at the Hartford Public Library and the Artists Collective.
The festival is a collaboration of The Hartt School’s Community Division and Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz, the Artists Collective, and the City of Hartford Office of Cultural Affairs. McLean, who died in 2006, was an internationally renowned alto saxophonist, composer, educator and community activist.
