Both NBC 30 and WFSB-TV Channel 3 will air stories on tonight’s (Tuesday, June10) newscasts about the University’s new generators that provide emergency power in the event of an outage and also can help relieve strain on the region’s electrical grid.
The news stories will highlight how the generators can be used to generate 5 megawatts of power, enough to power the University and to allow ISO New England to take the University off its power grid, thereby creating additional capacity and avoiding a potential brownout.
