Several faculty members of the Barney School’s Department of Management/Marketing presented papers at the Eastern Academy of Management annual conference held in Springfield, Mass., earlier this month.
Steven W. Congden, assistant professor of management, presented “Cross-Cultural Communication and Multicultural Team Performance: A German and American Comparison.” The paper, co-authored with Alexei V. Matveev of the City University of New York and David E. Desplaces, assistant professor of entrepreneurial studies and management at the Barney School, investigates the relationship between cross-cultural communication competence and multicultural team performance using German and American subjects.
Sandra Morgan, associate professor of management, presented “Turning the Mirror on Ourselves” with Diana Stork of Emmanuel College, Jill Woodilla of Sacred Heart University, and Laurie Levesque of Suffolk University.
Desplaces and John R. Ogilvie, associate professor of management, presented “A Manager’s Action Exercise.”
Narendar Sumukadas, assistant professor of management, presented the case study, “Oil Change Operations.”
