Community Service Award Nominations
Posted 6/21/2005
Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2005 Community Service Awards.
The awards, which are in their sixth year, seek to recognize faculty and staff who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the university’s three neighboring communities (Hartford, West Hartford, and Bloomfield), and who have actively worked to improve and enhance communities in need, and by example, encouraged others to do the same.
The awards will be presented at the annual Faculty/Staff Kickoff on Aug. 24.
Up to three Community Service Awards may be given each year. The award is open to all full- and part-time faculty and staff. Winners receive a cash payment. Last year's recipients were The Caring Neighbor Program, sponsored by the Department of Athletics, and Michael Yaffe, executive director of The Hartt School.
Nominations must be submitted by July 18, 2005. The nominations should outline what the nominee has done on an ongoing basis to meet the standards set by the award guidelines. Nominations may be sent to John Carson (CC 313), at jcarson@hartford.edu, or Chris Grant (CC 313), at cgrant@hartford.edu.
A committee comprising John Carson, Chris Grant, Evelyne Haldimann, Jim Keener, and Jon Easterbrook will review the nominations.
