Getting a job often means applying to the Human Resources Department of a company.
As a Human Resources Manager at Goodrich PECS, Jocelyn (Shepard) Feder (B.A., ’93) will offer an inside view of the job application process – from what the process entails, to tips for preparing a resume that gets you a second look, to what to expect during the initial interview. She’ll also give a brief introduction to the field of Human Resources and describe what students can do to develop the qualifications for an entry-level job in HR.
The talk, sponsored by Lambda Pi Eta, the School of Communication honor society, will be held on Thursday, April 2, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Room E228 of the Harry Jack Gray Center.
The featured speaker, Jocelyn Feder, has been Human Resources Manager at Goodrich in West Hartford, Conn., since 2002. Prior to that she was Human Resources Supervisor at General Cable in Willimantic, Conn., following other HR positions dating back to 1993 when she graduated with a B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in interpersonal and organizational communication.
All members of the University of Hartford community are welcome to attend.
