University Featured in Hartford Magazine

The University was featured in a two-page spread in the April issue of Hartford magazine. The story featured programs at the University that are open to the public, including the President’s College; Joseloff and Silpe galleries; and the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies. The article also included photographs of the women’s basketball team, Community Day, and the President’s College.

Laurence Gould, professor of physics, was a guest on WTIC-AM’s “Sound Off Connecticut” on April 3. Gould talked about his research, which, he says, shows that global warming is not the catastrophic problem many believe it is.

Sue Landolina, assistant director of employer relations for Career Services, was interviewed for a story that aired during NBC 30’s 11 p.m. newscast on April 2. NBC 30 was on campus to cover an education career fair in the Konover Campus Center.

John Kniering, director of Career Services, was quoted in an article in the Hartford Courant’s “Career Builder” section on March 28. The article also appeared in Tribune-owned newspapers across the country. Kniering explained how career services departments can help alumni find jobs.

Alex Bulger and Victor Santana, members of the University baseball team, were profiled in The New Britain Herald on April 2. Both students are from Plainville and have been playing baseball together since they were children. Read the article on newbritainherald.com.
