'Roots & Shoots' Program Wednesday; New Student Environmental Group Meets Thursday

Shawn Sweeney, who runs the Western Connecticut State University's College & University Programs Office of Roots & Shoots for the Jane Goodall Institute, will speak on “Taking Action for a Better World,” and the Roots & Shoots model for college environmental and social groups, tonight (Wednesday, April 8), at 7:30 p.m. in the Konover Great Room.

New Student Environmental Group
A new student group – HELP (Hartford Environmental League of People) – will meet on Thursday (April 9), from 12 to 1:15 p.m., in Gengras Student Union.
Participants will break into subcommittees focusing on real issues and real goals, such as recycling and waste, energy, and food services, and they will talk about “Blackout,” a group activity for April.
