Students in Assistant Professor Wick Griswold’s “Studies in Social Problems” class are collecting towels, bedding, and clothing for the homeless every evening this week outside the University Commons.
The students will be collecting items from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
In addition, on Wednesday (April 15), from 6 to 11 p.m., the students will be participating in a sleep-out outside Gengras Student Union to raise awareness and money to fight homelessness.
Students and other members of the University community are encouraged to stop by on Wednesday night and donate whatever amount they can. The money that is collected will be used to buy socks for the homeless.
