Nominations Sought for Community Service Awards

It's time to begin receiving and evaluating nominations for the annual Community Service Awards.

The Community Service Awards seek to recognize faculty and staff who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the three communities in which the University is located (Hartford, Bloomfield, West Hartford); actively worked to improve and enhance communities in need; and, by example, encouraged others to do the same.

Up to two awards may be given each year. The award provides a cash payment to winners. Awards will be presented at the Faculty/Staff Kickoff in late August.

Nominations should outline what the nominee has done on an ongoing basis to meet the standards set by the award guidelines. Nominations may be sent to Christine Grant, CC 313, or emailed to cgrant@hartford.edu. All nominations must be received by May 15, 2009.

Nominations will be reviewed by a committee whose members include Christine Grant, John Carson, Randi Ashton-Pritting, Fred Jenoure and Sebby Sorrentino.
