The Insurance City Chorus, a barbershop chorus featuring Associate Professor Harald Sandstrom (front row, far right), is scheduled to perform at approximately 8:45 p.m. Sunday.
Musicians and singers from the University community will come together in concert to raise money for Foodshare, the regional food bank serving central Connecticut, on Sunday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in Gengras Student Union.

Performers will include the University of Hartford Gospel Choir; Collective Sextet, a jazz ensemble; and young musicians from The Hartt School Community Division Collaborative String Ensemble.

In addition, Hartford's Famous Insurance City Chorus, a barbershop chorus featuring Associate Professor of Politics and Government Harald Sandstrom, is scheduled to close the show at approximately 8:45 p.m.

"These are challenging if not tragic times for the unemployed, the working poor, and those facing chronic need," says Professor of Philosophy Bernard den Ouden, who is organizing the event. "As a community of students, faculty, staff and friends of the University of Hartford, we can address some of these problems by supporting organizations such as Foodshare."

Admission is free, but there is a suggested donation of $10. All money collected will go to Foodshare. Every $30 that Foodshare receives provides a month's worth of food for a hungry person.
