Community Day, Hydrogen Research, and More

Jonathan Easterbrook, director of marketing communication, was a guest on WFSB-TV's "Better Connecticut" on April 16. Easterbrook talked about the annual Community Day festival on Saturday, April 18.

Andrew Craft, an associate professor of chemistry in A&S, was featured in a story on WFSB-TV on April 9. Craft talked about his research, which he hopes will lead to a way to make hydrogen a more practical automobile fuel. Students Erik Dillon and Andrew Davie were also included the report, which also aired on stations in New Hampshire and North Carolina. You can watch the story on wfsb.com.

Demetrios Giannaros, an economics professor in the Barney School of Business, was quoted in the Hartford Courant on April 16. Giannaros said "there are some sales tax exemptions, and there are some tax credits that have been there for many years for no reason except that some lobbyists are pushing for them to be there." A concert featuring legendary jazz pianist Hank Jones received a rave review in the Hartford Courant on April 15. The concert included 14 students, alumni and faculty from The Hartt School. President Walter Harrison and Nat Reeves, an assistant professor in Hartt, were also mentioned in the review, which you can read on courant.com.

Denise Laframboise, an assistant professor of psychology, was interviewed for a story on "laughter as medicine" that aired on Fox 61 on April 8. To watch the story, click here and scroll to page 19 under the video box.

Professor Richard Freund,  director of the Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies, and the University of Hartford were highlighted in a lengthy feature article in the Jerusalem Post on April 7. The story detailed the excavations and discoveries at the Bethsaida Archaeological Project in Israel.
