John and Lillie Feierabend traveled to China this summer to share their expertise in early childhood music education with kindergarten teachers in that country.

John Feierabend is professor of music education and director of the Music Education Division at The Hartt School, and Lillie Feierabend is the lower elementary music specialist at the University of Hartford Magnet School.

Together, they conducted extended seminars in early childhood music development for kindergarten teachers in Nanjing and Chengdu. More than 200 Chinese teachers attended, and some presented lessons with Chinese kindergarten children demonstrating methods shared by the Feierabends during a previous visit. The Feierabends visited Beijing and Nanjing eight years ago.

During their recent trip to China, the Feierabends also gathered folk songs and dances from Tibetan cultures.
