University to be Featured on FOX 61 Friday Morning

Several members of the University community will be featured on Fox 61 on the morning of Friday, April 24, when the station broadcasts live from West Hartford's Blue Back Square. University cheerleaders and Howie the Hawk will appear several times between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Women's basketball coach Jennifer Rizzotti will be interviewed around 8 a.m. Nancy Andersen, chair of the Voice Department for The Hartt School Community Division, and a trumpeter from the Community Division will also be included in the broadcast.

The University of Hartford's 7th annual Community Day received extensive media coverage. NBC 30 and Fox 61 aired video from the festival during their newscasts on April 21. Lisa Etienne, a senior on the women's basketball team, was profiled in The Hour, a newspaper in Fairfield County, on April 20. Etienne said "I hope to get a chance to play overseas. If the opportunity is right, I am going to play." Read the rest of the article on thehour.com.

The Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center was praised in a "Letter to the Editor" in the Hartford Courant on April 19. The building was cited as an example of colleges and university's helping to revitalize cities. Read the letter on courant.com.

Warren Goldstein, chair of the A&S history department, was a guest on Fox News's "Strategy Room" on April 16. Goldstein talked about the new Yankee Stadium and sports teams that build new stadiums with money from taxpayers.
