Career Services to be Featured on Channel 3 Wednesday
John Kniering, director of Career Services, and several students were interviewed for a story that is scheduled to air on WFSB-TV (Channel 3) on Wednesday, May 6, between 5 and 6:30 p.m. Kniering and the students will discuss ways to find a job during the economic downturn.
Hartt graduate Marin Ireland '00 was profiled in Frank Rizzo's column in the Hartford Courant on May 4. Rizzo writes that Ireland, currently starring in reasons to be pretty on Broadway, is a serious contender for a Tony Award. Read the column on courant.com.
The Barney School's Applied Financial Analysis and Investment Class was the subject of an article in The Day of New London on May 3. Student Robert Graham was quoted, saying "all my classes have been great. But this (class) was one I always looked forward to. Susan Coleman, professor of finance in the Barney School of Business, was one of the authors of an editorial published in The Day on May 4. Coleman, who also serves as an economic adviser to Governor M. Otto Wahl, professor of psychology, A&S, was quoted in the York Daily Record on April 30. Speaking at a presentation at York College in Pennsylvania, Wahl said the entertainment industry's tendency to have an evil character be mentally ill reinforces "the stereotypes that people with mental illness are deranged and violent."
