Harrison Quoted on Athletes' Academic Performance

President Walter Harrison was quoted in several national stories about the NCAA issuing postseason bans for poor academic performance. Harrison is the chair of the NCAA's Committee on Academic Performance. Harrison was quoted in the New York Times, saying "our members understand what's at stake and put in place the type of programs that help athletes to succeed." Read the article on nytimes.com.
Harrison was also quoted in an Associated Press story on the topic, which was picked up by media outlets around the country.
Students Yunie Mojica, Maegen Garthwaite and Jonathan Whitson were featured on WFSB-TV (Channel 3) on May 6. The story focused on new college graduates trying to find jobs during the economic downturn. John Kniering, director of Career Services, and Jerry Katrichis, associate professor of marketing in the Barney School of Business, were also interviewed for the story, which you can watch on wfsb.com.
Demetrios Giannaros, professor of economics in the Barney School of Business, was a guest on WTIC-AM's "Mornings with Ray Dunaway" on May 6. Giannaros discussed the banking system and the implication of this week's bank stress tests. Listen to the interview on wtic.com.
Susan Coleman, professor of finance in the Barney School, was quoted in Inc. magazine on May 6. Coleman commented on a survey indicating firms led by men are outperforming those led by women.
