Blackboard Unavailable on Aug. 17 Due to Upgrade

The Blackboard Learning Management System will be unavailable on Monday, August 17, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. for a scheduled upgrade and maintenance.
On that day, the Blackboard Learning Management System will be upgraded from version 7.3 to version 8. Instructors will find that the gradebook has been completely redesigned and is now called the Grade Center.
FCLD strongly encourages instructors currently using the Blackboard gradebook to become familiar with the new Grade Center prior to the start of the fall term. To help with this process, FCLD will be offering demonstrations and workshops on the new Grade Center and Blackboard 8 throughout the summer months. Instructors and other campus members will find several minor changes to existing Blackboard tools and features, as well as a new social bookmarking tool called Blackboard Scholar.
Faculty are encouraged to contact FCLD with any concerns and/or questions about this upgrade, at 768-4661 or fcld@hartford.edu. Anyone experiencing technical difficulties with Blackboard should contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance, at (860) 768-5999.
