Fox 61 Broadcasts Live From Handel Center
Several members of the University community appeared on Fox 61 during the station's morning newscast on May 13. Reporter Jeff Valin broadcast live from the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center throughout the newscast. A play directed by Malcolm Morrison, who recently retired as dean of The Hartt School, received a rave review from the Hartford Advocate on May 12. Morrison is directing Noises Off, a comedy now playing at Hartford Stage. The review says Morrison "keeps things rolling at breakneck speed despite the split-second timing this kind of theatrical froth demands." Read the rest of the review on hartfordadvocate.com.
Two pieces by noted photographer Ellen Carey, associate professor of photography at the Hartford Art School, were featured in photographs that accompanied a May 8 Wall Street Journal article on the Manhattan home of designer John Bartlett. Two of Carey's large format Polaroid 20”x 24” artworks, know as "Pulls," are prominently displayed in Bartlett's brownstone. To see the article with the accompanying photos, click here (PDF).
