Buon Viaggio! Hawks Leave for Italy

The University of Hartford women's basketball team set off Friday on its first road trip of the season, embarking on an 11-day tour of Italy.

The Hawks soared farther than ever before, flying more than 4,000 miles from Boston to Rome, with a stop in Paris, France.

Hartford is scheduled to play three exhibition games during its Italian sojourn, beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 23, in the city of Arezzo. The Hawks will face the San Giovanni Valdardno Basketball Team at 7 p.m. (2 p.m. EST).

Hartford will play the Marghera Giants on Thursday, Aug. 25, (3 p.m. EST) in the city of Venice-Mestre and the Riva San Vitale Basketball Club on Saturday, Aug. 27, (3 p.m. EST) in the city of Como.
