FCLD Summer Workshops: Blackboard 8 and the New Grade Center

Blackboard, the University's Learning Management System, will be upgraded on August 17, 2009. On that day, Blackboard will be upgraded from version 7.3 to version 8.

Instructors will find that the gradebook has been completely redesigned and is now called the Grade Center. FCLD strongly encourages instructors currently using the Blackboard gradebook to become familiar with the new Grade Center prior to the start of the fall term. An overview of the new Grade Center may be found here. Instructors and other campus members will find several minor changes to existing Blackboard tools and features, as well as a new social bookmarking tool called Blackboard Scholar.

To help faculty become familiar with the new changes in Blackboard, FCLD is offering special one-hour informational workshops on the new Grade Center and Blackboard 8.
