Christopher Zimmerman Profiled in the Washington Post

Christopher Zimmerman, who holds the Mary Primrose Fuller Chair in Orchestral Conducting at The Hartt School, was profiled in the Washington Post on May 22. Zimmerman was recently named the music director of the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra in Virginia. Read the article on washingtonpost.com.

Demetrios Giannaros, professor of economics in the Barney School of Business, co-wrote an Op-Ed piece that ran in the Hartford Courant on May 24. Giannaros, who also is deputy speaker of the state House of Representatives, rebutted arguments that raising taxes will cause rich people to move out of Connecticut. Read the Op-Ed on courant.com.

Hartt School alumnus John Clancy '96 (BMUS-Composition) was featured in Frank Rizzo's column in the Hartford Courant on May 20. Clancy, an orchestrator for "Shrek: The Musical," is nominated for a Tony Award.

Hali Miller and Sharneil A. Paynter, students in the Hartford Art School, were featured in a Hartford Courant article on May 14. They designed banners for "...Age," a public art project in downtown Hartford. Read the article on courant.com.
