Fall 2009 term Blackboard courses are now available to faculty. All academic Blackboard course sites are created automatically, using the course listing information in the Banner system.
Instructors requiring combined enrollments in their Blackboard courses should use the online course request form on the FCLD website, at www.hartford.edu/fcld, to request that their combined courses be set up on Blackboard. Instructors should be sure they submit the correct CRNs for course requests, as the CRN is the basis for student enrollments.
All Blackboard spring 2009 courses have been set to "unavailable" status. Faculty are still able to access them, but students are not. Spring 2009 courses will remain on Blackboard and remain accessible to faculty for approximately one year after the end of the spring 2009 term. FCLD will create archived backups of all spring courses for safekeeping. However, grades and other student-related records are not preserved during archiving, so faculty should plan to print out or export any grades recorded in Blackboard's online gradebook. Instructors who would like permanent records of online discussions (forums), submitted assignments, or Digital Dropbox submissions should plan to print these out or download them to their computers.
FCLD staff is available to answer any questions about these procedures or any other Blackboard questions. Please contact them by phone at (860) 768-4661, or by e-mail at fcld@hartford.edu.
