Yvette Blanchard, associate professor of physical therapy, ENHP, co-authored a book chapter titled "Newborn Behavior and Development: Implications for Health Care Professionals" with her colleague from the Brazelton Institute, Dr. Kevin Nugent. The chapter was published in Handbook of Human Development for Health Care Professionals, published by Jones and Bartlett.

Amanda Carlson, assistant professor of art history, A&S, recently completed a month of field research in Nigeria, West Africa.

Her project, "African Traditional Culture and Politics in the 21st Century," explored how traditional culture is being utilized as a tool for personal and political agency. This includes the development of cultural tourism and the promotion of ethnic, state, and national identities through expressions of traditional culture.

During her stay in Nigeria, Governor Donald Duke of Cross River State named Carlson "Goodwill Ambassador for Cross River State."
