'Pot Luck' Luncheon in Tribute to Penny Mahon

Women and men of the University of Hartford are invited to celebrate the University community with a pot luck luncheon on Wednesday, July 15, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Bring a favorite main dish, salad, or dessert. WELFund will provide beverages and paper products.
Jennifer Sanborn, WELFund director, explains that the recent loss of Penny Mahon was the inspiration for this gathering. “I had the privilege of living with Penny when I first came to the University, and since that time, we would periodically have lunch. She would end each get-together by saying to me, ‘I go home for lunch every day. Feel free to call anytime.’ ”
Sanborn continues, “I picked up the phone to make that call too rarely. This week I was reminded that we need to celebrate the community that we share while we have the opportunity. As Penny was an extraordinary cook and served this institution through her unparalleled hospitality, it seems right to serve one another and enjoy each other's company.”
The location for the luncheon is TBD. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Jennifer Sanborn at sanborn@hartford.edu or Tina Berrien at berrien@hartford.edu. They will provide the location to all those who respond.
