Feierabend Interview Airs On Radio Stations Across the Country

An interview with John Feierabend, director of The Hartt School's Music Education program, aired on "The Parents Journal with Bobbi Conner" on Aug. 5. Feierabend talked about the importance of exposing children and babies to music. The interview was broadcast on public radio stations around the country. You can listen to it on parentsjournal.com.
The Boston Globe reviewed Associate Professor of Sociology Timothy Black's new book, When a Heart Turns Rock Solid: The Lives of Three Puerto Rican Brothers On and Off the Streets, on Aug. 9. The Globe called the book "a narrative as compelling as well-crafted fiction." Read the rest of the review on boston.com.
An article by Donald Ellis, professor in the School of Communication, appeared on the blog "The Mideast Peace Pulse" on Aug. 6. Ellis wrote that Israeli-Jews and Palestinians "must communicate to resolve political differences and although this may come as a surprise to some: argument will be their primary resolution tool." Randi Ashton-Pritting, director of University Libraries, was featured on NBC 30 on July 29. Ashton-Pritting, who is also the president of the Connecticut Library Association, spoke about Governor Rell's proposed cuts to libraries.
Leslie Frye Maietta, a member of the dance faculty at The Hartt School Community Division, was featured on the Fox 61 Morning News on July 31. Maietta taught reporter Nicole Jacobs a dance routine to "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by the Eurythmics.
