Richard Provost Interviewed About Les Paul

Richard Provost, professor of guitar at The Hartt School, was interviewed for a WTIC-AM news story about the passing of Les Paul, who revolutionized the music industry with his guitar and studio innovations (such as creating the solid body guitar and creating multi-track recording). The interview aired on Thursday, Aug. 13.
The Hartford Advocate reviewed the new book by Timothy Black, associate professor of sociology and director of the Center for Social Research, on Aug. 11. When a Heart Turns Rock Solid: The Lives of Three Puerto Rican Brothers On and Off the Streets, has "twisting story lines and intriguing subplots" that are "good enough to compete with any series on HBO," the review says. Avinoam Patt, the Philip D. Feltman Professor of Modern Jewish History at the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies, was featured in the Jewish newspaper, the Forward, on Aug. 11. Susan Spaulding, a faculty member in The Hartt School Community Division, was profiled in the North Haven Courier on Aug. 13. Spaulding, a French Horn teacher, lives with Multiple Sclerosis.
