NBC Connecticut and Local Online News Report on Students Returning to Campus

NBC Connecticut was live on campus during the station's evening newscast on Aug. 28 for a story about students returning to campus. Reporter Debra Bogstie interviewed incoming first-year students and their parents about moving into the residence halls.

Local Online News also did a story on moving day and H1N1 preparations on Aug. 28. First-year student Kweyah McLemore and parent Anthony Gallardo appeared in the story, which you can watch on localonlinenews.tv.

Bilal Sekou, an associate professor of political science in Hillyer College, will be a guest on Fox 61's "Real Story" on Aug. 30. Sekou will talk about Senator Ted Kennedy's legacy. The show begins at 10:30 a.m.

Hartt School senior Windsor Johnson was featured in the Peterborough, N.H. Monadnock Ledger-Transcript on Aug. 27. Johnson, a pianist, talks about the yearly performances he gives in his hometown of Peterborough. 'Generally I don't do pieces that are too new for me," Johnson says. "I try to do pieces I've been working on for a year or more, so I've had time to live with them." Read the article on ledgertranscript.com.

Zach Bencal, an incoming first-year student, and his family were profiled in the Lawrence, Mass. Eagle-Tribune on Aug. 26. Bencal plans to study musical theatre in The Hartt School. Zach's father, Paul Bencal, tells the paper "I think that my wife is shocked that our normal time with him is about to end." Read the article on eagletribune.com.
