Faculty members are encouraged to consider having their students participate in the University’s Educational Main Street program as part of their course work.

Through Educational Main Street (EMS), students have an opportunity to tutor children at the University’s partner schools in Hartford and Bloomfield.

“Our tutors remark over and over again how much their service learning experience at the partner schools has supported their understanding of their course work and how it was an important and rewarding part of their college experience,” said EMS Director Mary Christensen.

If you are interested in exploring ways you might integrate EMS into your course work, please contact Christensen at 768.5215 or mchristen@hartford.edu.

If you would like your students to learn about EMS, you can schedule a short visit to your class by EMS staff.
