At its July 2009 meeting, the University of Hartford Staff Association approved the addition of two positions to the Executive Board of the association.

The addition of "Non-exempt Staff Member At-large" and "Exempt Staff Member At-large" positions ensures representation of the two major classifications of staff on the Executive Board.

The new Executive Board members will serve as advocates for staff and promote the needs and perspectives of staff members to the board and to the broader University community. According to the process detailed in the association's constitution and by-laws, vacancies on the Executive Board are to be appointed by the current board. The positions will be included in the next election cycle (spring 2011).

Current members of the Staff Association interested in serving in the role of "Non-exempt Staff Member At-large" or "Exempt Staff Member At-large" are invited to submit letters of interest to the members of the Executive Board via e-mail at uhartstaf@hartford.edu no later than Friday, September 25, 2009. Review of submitted letters of interest will take place shortly thereafter with the expectation that the Executive Board will announce its appointments at the October Staff Association meeting.

The purpose of the University of Hartford Staff Association is to represent the rights, needs, interests, and good will of the staff at the University of Hartford. Any University staff member who is not a member of a certified bargaining unit can join the Staff Association. Your involvement is encouraged and greatly appreciated.
