Help Bag Leaves For the Elderly

Matt Blocker
The town of West Hartford has discontinued curbside leaf vacuuming in order to save money during these tough economic times.
The town is seeking University of Hartford students, faculty and staff to help bag leaves for senior citizens. The bags will then be collected at the resident’s home on trash day by the town.
If you are interested in helping with this program, please contact the Center for Community Service by coming into the Center (GSU 209) and asking for Matt Blocker or by emailing us at ccs@hartford.edu. We will then add you to our list. When residents call for help to bag their leaves we will contact you directly with available times and days to help. We do have van transportation to help you get to these homes if you do not have your own transportation.
