Men’s Soccer Home Opener

The University of Hartford men’s soccer team will play its home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. against the University of Massachusetts. This will be the team’s first game on the new Al-Marzook Field.
Al-Marzook field was completely renovated during the summer, including the installation of all-weather field turf and new bleachers. Come out on Tuesday and help the men’s soccer team celebrate the new field!
There will be several special events, including a pre-game tailgating contest. The top three groups will win prizes, with a first prize of $100. The contest will be judged on the number of people involved, decorations, food, and enthusiasm. To take part in the contest, register your group by contacting the Athletics Box Office at 860.768.4295 or tickets@hartford.edu.
Every fan in attendance will also have the opportunity to win great raffle prizes, including a color television.
Before the game, there will be a ceremonial “first kick,” in which men’s soccer alumni and people who helped make the field a reality will pass soccer balls to the current players. Several members of the current men’s soccer team will be signing autographs after the game.
