Retirement Health Coverage
Posted 10/9/2009
The following is a message from Human Resources Development (HRD).
If you are contemplating retirement, please be reminded that to be eligible for subsidized continuation of medical benefits, you must be enrolled in a University-offered medical insurance plan (United HealthCare Enhanced POS or United HealthCare Core POS) for a minimum of two years prior to retirement if you plan to continue this coverage into retirement.
In addition, if you are planning on retiring or are nearing the end of a phased retirement plan, please be advised that in order to ensure timely enrollment into the appropriate medical plan, HRD will need 60 days written notice of your intent to retire.
Please refer to the HRD website at www.hartford.edu/hrd/benefits for information regarding retirement benefits and eligibility requirements.
If you should have any further questions, please contact your designated HR Manager.
