Women's basketball coach Jen Rizzotti was profiled in the Stamford Advocate on Oct. 17. The article talked about her upcoming induction into the Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame. Rizzotti says "knowing where my roots are from and growing up in New Fairfield and as a coach now, I know how many great athletes came from that part of the state. Bilal Sekou, an associate professor of political science in Hillyer College, was a guest on Fox 61's "Stan Simpson Show" on Oct. 18. Sekou talked about President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize and how this may be a burden to his administration.
Bill Thomson, associate professor of illustration in the Hartford Art School, was profiled in The Bristol Press on Oct. 12. Thomson, who won the 2009 Connecticut Book Award in the Children’s Illustrator category for his book, Baseball Hour, said winning the award "is a tremendous honor for me.
