Slight Increase in Number of H1N1 Cases on Campus
Posted 10/23/2009
As of Oct. 20, Quest Diagnostics Laboratories has confirmed about a dozen cases of H1N1 flu on the University of Hartford campus. All of these cases have been relatively mild. Most of those affected went home, recovered, and were able to return to school in four to five days.
Twelve is a very small percentage of the hundreds of students who have come to Health Services and been tested for the virus. However, as the number of cases increases, students, faculty and staff are urged to pay attention to the precautionary steps that can help curb the spread of the flu.
Please read and follow the information available at www.hartford.edu/flu, especially "If you are Sick" under Info for Students and "Eight Ways You Can Stay Healthy at Work" under Info for Faculty and Staff.
