Media Covers Announcement of Title Sponsor for America East Tournament

A number of media outlets covered the announcement that Newman's Own will serve as the title sponsor of the 2010 America East Men's and Women's Basketball Championship, slated for March 4-7, 2010, at the University of Hartford. During the announcement, Governor M. Jodi Rell said "I want to congratulate Pat [Meiser] and President Harrison for all they have done to land this event." Steve Davis, internationally renowed trombonist and Hartt School faculty member, was profiled in the Hartford Courant on Oct. 29. Davis recently released an album entitled "Eloquence," which the Courant's Owen McNally calls "another high point in his career." Read the story on courant.com.

Garmany Chamber Music Series, a celebration concert for retiring trumpet Professor Roger Murtha, a performance by Hartt Dean Aaron Flagg, and a performance by the Lions Gate Trio. The University's new partnership with the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc. (CCAT) was featured in BusinessWest on Oct. 26. The story says the collaboration "is aimed at growing the relationship between entrepreneurs who work with CCAT and the faculty, students, and resources of the University."
