Come and decorate the Mitten Tree in Mortensen Library with donations of mittens, gloves, and hats!
The University Libraries are once again sponsoring a “Mitten Tree” this year in the lobby of Mortensen Library.

For the past three years, individuals and groups across campus have decorated the tree with abundant donations of mittens, gloves, and hats. Last year, University Libraries and the Center for Community Service collected more than 175 pairs of mittens to be distributed to children and adults in need. We are hoping that this year the University community will once again decorate our tree with warmth and giving.

South Park Inn will be the beneficiary of this year’s collections. This shelter was originally formed in 1982 in order to assist homeless persons and advocate for solutions to homelessness in the Greater Hartford area. The former South Park Methodist Church was renovated to operate this emergency shelter in July 1984. The South Park Inn supports men, women, and children throughout the year.

Please help to make this drive as successful as possible. Stop by Mortensen Library between now and December 17, and help us “pay it forward.”
