They wrote "Americanists of the world, unite! Weary with the cult of Ralph Waldo Emerson – the Sage of Concord, the father of American Transcendentalism – ours is a call to arms." Michael Crosbie, chair of the Department of Architecture, CETA, wrote an opinion piece that ran in the Hartford Courant on Jan. 17. Crosbie wrote about a new addition to Yale's David S. Ingalls Hockey Rink, saying "The new underground addition and the sensitive adjustments to the restored rink interior (such as new railings that now meet code) are great because they're virtually invisible, and defer to the robust spirit of [architect] Saarinen's original work. In this case, a quiet design is the best answer." Read the rest of the piece on courant.com.
