WFSB covered a student vigil for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti on Jan. 26. The student group Brothers and Sisters United organized the vigil and march, which went from Gengras to Alumni Plaza.
University President Walter Harrison was mentioned in the Hartford Courant's Java column on Jan. 23. Harrison was one of the local celebrities who participated in the Webster MicroSociety Magnet School's "Webster Reads" event. He told the students his favorite book as a child was The Jackie Robinson Story. Read more on courant.com.
Johnathan Lee Iverson, an alum of The Hartt School, was profiled in the Daily Record of Jacksonville, Fla. on Jan. 22. Iverson, a ringmaster for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus, is the first African-American ringmaster of a major U.S. circus.
