Posted 10/7/2005
Warren Goldstein, professor of history and chair of the department, wrote an opinion piece that was published in the Sept. 29 issue of The Chronicle of Philanthropy.
In his column, Goldstein argues that the recent success of private charities in raising money for hurricane relief allows the government to play a diminished role, thereby laying the groundwork for even greater disasters in the future.
