The news that the University has been awarded a $2.4 million research grant, one of the largest such grants in University history, from the U.S. Army to aid in the development of unmanned autonomous aerial vehicles generated several media stories. Vice President of University Relations John Carson was quoted in the Hartford Courant on Jan. 28. Carson talked about surveillance cameras that neighbors have put up on a street near campus to stop drivers from speeding. He said "We haven't heard or seen any concerns about the cameras. We don't have a sense that they are infringing on any innate right." Read the story on courant.com.
