"Women for Change" in Allure magazine, PeaceJam on WTIC-AM, Students' Work in India in West Hartford News
The University's Women for Change group was the subject of Allure magazine's "Daily Beauty Reporter Blog" on March 22. Women for Change recently put out a "What is Beauty?" calendar, featuring pictures of women students, faculty and staff and their definitions of beauty. The Allure blogger wrote "Though we admire the confidence it must take for celebs and models to put these [calendars] out annually, we have to admit we love these calendar girls a little bit more." The PeaceJam youth conference coming to campus this weekend will be the focus of a segment on WTIC radio (1080 AM) on March 24. Barry Felson, who is organizing the conference along with University students, is scheduled to speak with WTIC's Diane Smith at 7:50 a.m.
On March 10, the West Hartford News featured a story about Kingswood-Oxford School junior Raveena Khanna. Khanna joined the University of Hartford's Engineers Without Borders student chapter on several trips to Abheypur, India, in which students and faculty members worked on ways to bring clean drinking water to villagers.
