Gort and Steen to be Featured on CPTV Thursday

Gene Gort, associate professor of media arts in the Hartford Art School, and Ken Steen, associate professor of theory and composition in The Hartt School, will be featured on Connecticut Public Television's "All Things Connecticut" on Thursday, April 8, at 8 p.m.

The program's "Spotlight on the Arts" segment will explore Gort and Steen’s unique, multimedia collaborations. After the first airing on April 8, the episode will be repeated on Saturday, April 10, and Wednesday, April 14, at 5:30 p.m. The newest trailer for the series can be seen at www.facebook.com/connecticutpublictelevision. Producer Ed Wierzbicki visited Gort and Steen during their residence at the I-Park Artists' Enclave in East Haddam, Conn., this past summer. The "All Things Connecticut" segment discusses their collaborative process, the significance of art and technology, the Reliquary of Labor project that they developed for the New Britain Museum of American Art, and their new work, Each to Each, a new media chamber opera.
