Kniering in Time, Churchill in the New York Times, Reeves in the Courant, Best Buddies in the Hartford Business Journal

John Kniering, director of Career Services, is quoted in the April 12 edition of Time magazine. The article "Working for Free" examines how more adults are now working at unpaid internships. Kniering says, "It can be very tempting if you're laying off employees to bring in free help and call it an internship. But most career services operations are fairly sophisticated in weeding those out." Read the rest of the story on time.com.

Robert Churchill, associate professor of history at Hillyer College, contributed to a blog on the New York Times' website on March 30. Churchill discussed the militia movement in America, in light of the F.B.I.'s raid against a militia group in Michigan. Read the posting on roomfordebate.blogs.nytimes.com.

A performance by Hartt School faculty member and renowned jazz bassist Nat Reeves was reviewed in the Hartford Courant on March 30. The review said "his impromptu sextet took its music quite seriously. And rather than presenting the usual jam session hard bop fare, Reeves added Latin spice." Hartt students Josh Bruneau and Andrew Renfroe also performed. Read more on courant.com.
