Yvette Blanchard, associate professor of physical therapy, ENHP, published a research paper titled "The influence of concurrent cognitive tasks on postural sway in children" in the journal Pediatric Physical Therapy. This research was done in collaboration with a group of graduate students in physical therapy and the late Geraldine L. Pellecchia from the University of Connecticut. The results of this study show that the cognitive demands of a task (such as counting backward or reading sentences) have an influence on postural sway. Postural control is therefore not as automatic as previously thought and requires the use of attentional resources for optimal performance.

David E. Desplaces, assistant professor of entrepreneurial studies and management at the Barney School of Business, had a refereed journal article published in the September 2005 issue of the Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management, titled “A Multi Level Approach to Individual Readiness to Change.” The article seeks to expand our understanding of individual readiness to change and its antecedents. A theoretically sound and testable individual readiness model is presented.
