Alum on Good Morning America; Hartford Art School on WFSB; Harrison in the Connecticut Jewish Ledger; and more
Claudia Toth, a 2004 PsyD recipient from the Department of Psychology's Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology, was featured on ABC-TV's Good Morning America on May 10. Claudia is a Behavioral Sleep Medicine Specialist at Sleep HealthCenters of Greater Boston. She appeared in a story on cognitive-behavioral treatment of insomnia. The University of Hartford hosted the Special Olympics Connecticut Eastern Region Games for the eighth consecutive year on Saturday, May 8. Both NBC Connecticut and WFSB-TV Eyewitness News filmed some of the competitions and interviewed volunteers working at the event.
WFSB-TV Channel 3 came to the Hartford Art School on Friday, May 7, to do a story on the more than 50 students Manchester High School, East Hartford High School and Rockville High School and their art teachers who took painting, drawing, and photography workshops at the Hartford Art School as part of a program funded by the SBM Foundation. Under the program, which is in its fifth year, these students come to the Hartford Art School four times during the school year, and this was their final set of workshops for the 2009–2010 school year. HAS Assistant Dean Robert Calafiore was interviewed for the story.
University President Walter Harrison has been appointed to the board of directors of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, which was noted by the Connecticut Jewish Ledger in its April 22 issue. Read the story on jewishledger.com.

Howie the Hawk and some youngsters working on arts and crafts during the University's eighth annual Community Day celebration was the cover photograph in the April 22 edition of West Hartford News.
