University Commencement Covered by the Hartford Courant, WTIC-AM, WFSB-TV and NBC Connecticut

The University of Hartford's 53rd annual Commencement was the lead story in the CT Now section of the May 17 issue of the Hartford Courant (read the story here) and graduating Hartt School seniors Kyle Rudolph, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Chelsea Farthing, of Alliance, Ohio, were featured on the front page of the Hartford Courant (view Courant's photo gallery here).

Audio clips from Hawks women's basketball coach Jen Rizzotti's Commencement address were prominently featured on WTIC Radio (1080 AM) news broadcasts and video footage of the ceremony also aired on NBC Connecticut and WFSB-TV Channel 3.  The address by Coach Rizzotti and addresses by other prominent athletes or former athletes were the focus of a column in USA Today, which you can read on usatoday.com.

A feature story about the photography exhibition "First Sight" by 18 Hartford Art School students at art-full Gallery in Blue Back Square in West Hartford was posted on MyWestHartfordLife.com on May 14. A number of these juniors from Professor Mary Frey's class were interviewed for the story, which you can read on mywesthartfordlife.com.

Hawks men's soccer coach and University alum Dan Gaspar is serving on the coaching staff of the Portuguese national soccer team as they train for the upcoming World Cup.  His latest blog posts are now in the New York Times, Big Apple Soccer,and SoccerNation.com.

Donald Rizzo, vice president for institutional advancement at the University, was highlighted in the Hartford Business Journal's "Movers & Shakers" column on April 26 for being honored with the CCS Award for Outstanding Fundraising Professional.
