Harrison in Inside Higher Ed, Goldstein on Fox CT Friday Morning, Gaspar in Several Media Outlets
University President Walter Harrison was quoted in Inside Higher Ed on July 15. Harrison, who is the chair of the NCAA’s Committee on Academic Performance, spoke about the NCAA’s Academic Progress Rate. He said, "Generally, we’ve committed ourselves to making data-driven decisions. We wanted the time to look at the data, and it takes a while to compile it. Rich Goldstein, a Hartt graduate who teaches jazz guitar and jazz guitar ensemble at The Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at The Hartt School, will appear on Fox CT's morning news program on Friday, July 16, during the 7 a.m. hour. He is scheduled to talk about this weekend's Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz, and about the history of jazz, particularly here in Connecticut.
Dan Gaspar, head coach of the men’s soccer team, was quoted in several media outlets as the World Cup came to an end in South Africa. Gaspar, who was the goalie coach for the Portuguese National Team, was interviewed for WFSB-TV and NBC Connecticut on Sunday, July 11. He was the subject of the Waterbury Republican-American's "Off the Record with Joe Palladino" column on July 11 and Jeff Jacobs’ column in the Hartford Courant on July 12. WTIC-AM’s Joe D'Ambrosio interviewed Gaspar live on the air on July 8.
Student John Dudek was mentioned in the Hartford Courant on July 15. Dudek, who was chosen as a Connecticut Student Poet this past winter, is participating in the Sunken Garden Poetry & Music Festival at the Hill-Stead Museum on July 21.
