Robinson on WNPR, Borucinska in the Cape Cod Times, Jones & Gallagher in the Courant

Michael Robinson, associate professor of history in Hillyer College, was a guest on WNPR’s “Where We Live” on Friday, July 30. Robinson, a highly-respected authority on exploration, was interviewed about modern-day exploration. You can listen to the interview at cpbn.org.

Joanna Borucinska, associate professor of biology in the College of Arts and Sciences, was quoted in the Cape Cod Times on July 24. Borucinska attended the Monster Shark Tournament in Oak Bluffs, Mass. She said there is not a lot of information on sharks. "It's terra incognita. Everything we discover is new," she said. Borucinska also said that although she appreciates the knowledge she gains from shark tournaments, she gets sad when she sees sharks on display. Read the article on capecodonline.com.

Eleta Jones, associate director of the University’s Center for Professional Development, was quoted in the Hartford Courant on July 23. Jones gave advice on how to guarantee a work-worry-free vacation. "If we work constantly and never take down time it leads to people burning out [and] losing perspective on things. … It's really important to take a break from work and recharge," said Jones. John Gallagher, the men’s basketball head coach, was profiled in the lead item of the Hartford Courant’s sports section on July 26. Gallagher is currently in the process of relocating his family to Hartford. "If you know me at all … I don't know if I have time to take a breath," Gallagher said. "It's not part of my personality. Every job that I'm involved with, it's 'What is the task at hand?' I try to do it that way all the time and just move ahead." Read more on courant.com.
